Maple-licous

Updated: Nov 30

So it's Black Friday, and I have my second or third piece of pie with coffee at hand. We had multiple pies, but it was the maple pecan I was hunting for at daybreak. All I found were a few caramel-pecan crumbles next to the apple--midnight pie eaters had made short work of the leftovers! If you're looking for a sure-fire hit, this recipe uses maple syrup rather than dark Karo corn syrup-- a huge improvement in our book!

Unsurprisingly, we used a lot of Tapatree syrup in our recipes--a ginger toned syrup in the cranberry relish, a cinnamon batch in the roasted squash, and a light vanilla syrup in the whipping cream! It is so versatile and both distinguished and elevated each dish. We are grateful for this amazing taste of our forest!

Onward to the December holidays and some great news! We are launching our last two shrubs today--Saffron Ximenez and Solstice. Both shrubs are slightly less sweet. Saffron Ximenez has a lovely vegetal quality and layers of sweet Ximenez sherry with high notes of saffron. The Solstice shrub will leave you wanting to curl up by the fire with a good book! Cinnamon, citrus zest, and a propriety blend of spices will be conjuring sleigh bells and mistletoe! All our shrubs can be used to create zero proof as well as spirit-full drinks, and make for a unique and delicious cornerstone of your holiday entertaining!

And more good news, Grist & Toll Whole Grains are back in our online shop for the holidays! This year Nan and Isaac have sent along some yummy recipes we'll tuck into your order for inspiration. Grist & Toll is a woman-owned mill in Los Angeles, and we've been collaborating for years now. Our City of Angels friends are passionate about sourcing the most amazing grains, then stone mill them into fabulous whole grain flours--no sifting! They are flavorful, nutritious, and unique culinary journeys. We hope you'll love them on your table, under the tree and tucked into stockings!

And last but certainly not least, our HONEY...oh boy! The inaugural Tapatree Honey is getting rave reviews. Flavor-profiled, each summer batch is deliciously unique and perfectly reflective of 2024. Our honey and Whole Maple both have this quality of time and place. They are the product of the trees and the bees at particular moments in time. When you're seeking a perfect gift, think Tapatree!

Okay, into Elf Mode we go! Sending each of you warm regards as we close out Thanksgiving, and good cheer as we head into the festive month of December and the new year beyond.
